Proper Meshing

Hey there, I created a geometry for a double pipe heat exchanger and meshed it. so far so good. But the fluid in the inner pipe is seen as a hollow cylinder in the meshing tool although it is a full body in the DesignModeler. I created the pipes via extrusion and the fluids via filling the pipes... Now I need the meshing tool to understand that the fluid is not a hollow cylinder, so I can mark the inlet and that the simulation will give me some usefull results.

Would be really happy about any help!

      Thank you guys :)

Are you able to see that solid in structure tree? nSelect that body. Go to details and change transparency. nPlease also have a look at share topology. nPlease check following videosnnDM Share topology:nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO4ZtwZdD2InnSpaceClaim Share topology:nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h43E1YO1LiMnnRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student Communitynn

Thank you Keyur for the help, I tried to change the shared topology, but it didn't help.... I noticed that when I take the body selection tool, it does show the face so the meshing progtam must somehow know that it is a filled body but i just doesn't let me select the face... on the other side of the pipe i can select the face with no problem. nIf you have any other ideas, I'd be happy to here about them. n

When you check for selecting the face, do you mean it turns green? If so, in DesignModeler go to Tools-Optionsnand set to highlight both sides. The single side is default for reasons that the Mechanical team understand: for the rest of us it's an annoyance which is fixed by changing the behaviour. n
