How to specify a new machine (without a new licence) to use ansys

      Dear all

I have one licence and I want to sepecify a new machine to use the licence. Both computers are connected to the same router with cables. I know I have to connect the two pcs together and I have tried that (I could see the other pc on network and it asked me for credential to connect to it.)

Then I go to "Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility", but I do not see any option to add a new machine.

Could it because the two computers are not connected in a proper way? if so can someone explain to me in a way you would explian that to a grand mother, how to do it (homegroup option is not available in my windows 10).

Also tell me what I have to do after I specified the other machine.

      regards

nAre you asking about the free ANSYS Student License? If so, each computer installs the software downloaded from this site and the license is included.nOr are you asking about a purchased license? In that case, the first computer had software was downloaded from the Customer Portal, which included a License Server. The license server will give a license to any computer on your local network. You don't put a list of client computers on the license server.nThe second computer has the ANSYS software installed, but not the License Server software. Type in the same info into the ANSYS Client License setup as you are showing in the screenshot above, and ANSYS should work on that second computer also.n

Make sure you launch the Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility using 'right-click -> Run as administrator' to be able to modify the server specification.n
