SubscriberHi everyone,
I am doing post processing of the results on this type of geometry, in particular on the side-holes:

Forum ModeratorI think I mentioned I'd have split the geometry to use interior faces for this task. In your case use an iso-clip to trim off the stray bits of the imprinted surface. nTo stop the pathlines you need a trap condition, which isn't available on post processing surfaces. nFluent uses a facet normal, again one of the reasons I suggested splitting the model up as mesh surfaces are more reliable. Pathlines are quicker to set up. Documentation will outline how massless particles will behave. nFebruary 13, 2021 at 12:06 pmclabr
SubscriberThank you for your help, I'll think on splitting the geometry.nIn that case how could I create a trap condition for the pathlines? I searched on the web but couldn't find muchnFebruary 15, 2021 at 4:32 amKeyur Kanade
Ansys EmployeeAs Rob mentioned splitting geometry is best option. nIf you are trying imprint by importing stl, you should have very fine resolution for stl surfaces. If stl has coarse resolution then it may not help. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynFebruary 15, 2021 at 11:13 amclabr

Forum ModeratorIf you look at some of the boundary condition options you can set them to trap for DPM, this should work on pathlines too. Interior faces don't have this option, porous jump, radiators and fans should:PJ is probably the safest though. nViewing 5 reply threads- The topic ‘Post-processing inside holes’ is closed to new replies.
