SubscriberI got the error. " Port refinement, process hf3d error: Waveport s is internal to solution domain and not fully backed with a PEC object.. Please contact ANSYS technical support. (8:14:36 ?? 1 27, 2021)"
?Thing I want to do
Patch antenna with prove feed.
I want to cover the air box with PML(perfectly matched layer).
I used prove feed. I use Coax pin and Prove.
?Thing I think
When I remove PML objects, I can finish the simulation and obtain the results. So, we cannot cover Patch antenna with PML objects? Only when i put PML objects(air i set as PML) on the Patch antenna?
Please tell me.
cf) i attach images of simulation model. These are of Project Manager and from - Z direction and prove.

Ansys EmployeenGenerally wave port interface should be defined at the boundary of the simulation domain. You can add an object at the port back with the cross section same as the port having some thickness and made up of PEC material. nAll the best.nBest Regards, nJanuary 28, 2021 at 6:58 amYukiko
SubscriberThank you for answering!nI added pec object at the port back, so HFSS does not issue error!nBut at the time solving matrix, it doesnt move and freezs.nShould i set size more smaller? For example, the air box...nAnd I'm sorry many times.nJanuary 28, 2021 at 7:04 amPraneeth
Ansys EmployeeHi Yukiko,nI would suggest you to replace the PML boundary with Radiation boundary if possible to reduce the complexity of the simulation model.nBest Regards,nJanuary 28, 2021 at 7:08 amYukiko
SubscriberThank you for replying soon!nI see... Setting PML is the one of purposes of this model. So, I want to set PML.nBut that is very helpful advice. Thank you.nViewing 4 reply threads- The topic ‘Port refinement, Waveport s is internal to solution domain and not fully backed with a PEC object.’ is closed to new replies.
