SubscriberHi all,
I am running a windshield impactor simulation in LS-DYNA, and I would like to obtain the internal energy output for a specific set of shell elements.
I tried using
ELOUTandDATABASE_HISTORY_SHELL, but so far I have not been able to find the internal energy output for the shell element set.Is there a way to directly output the internal energy of a selected set of shell elements in LS-DYNA?
If this output is not available directly, what would be the recommended way to extract or calculate this data? For example, are there any post-processing scripts, LS-PrePost options, or other methods that could be used?
Thank you.

SubscriberHello, unless I am missing something, internal energy should be part of the database_matsum output. Have you tried that and included in your input file? If you have, try looking at the "matsum" output.

SubscriberDear Mr. Chen,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have also tried
MATSUM, but it only provides the energy output for the entire part. What I need is the energy output for a specific set of shell elements, not for the whole part.Do you know if there is a way to obtain this energy output for a selected shell element set?
Best regards,
Ali
