Reconciling different versions of ANSYS

I have ANSYS Maxwell 3D files that were created in ANSYS 2021 and I have ANSYS 2025 R2 downloaded on my computer that has a HFSS license attached to it. What is the best way to proceed other than uninstalling ANSYS and reinstalling another version of ANSYS?

Maxwell 3D project files created in version 2021 use an ASIC 3D Modeler kernel, so they can be opened without problems in versions up to 2022R2. Furthermore, versions 2023R1 through 2024R2 can automatically convert and open them, although conversion may fail depending on the model.

So should I just uninstall my 2025 R2 version to open my files?

There is no need to uninstall 2025 R2. Each version is installed individually, and multiple versions can be used on the same machine.
