SubscriberHi there,
I am running fluent on an HPC which recently changed its solver to 2020R1. The solver gives me .cas.h5 and .dat.h5 files. When I try to load them into a CFD post fluent workflow for post processing on my PC I get an error that the .h5 isn't supported, screenshot attached. This makes absolutely no sense considering that I am running full version 2020R1 on my PC and the 2020R1 solver on the HPCÂ created the .h5 files. How do I get them to read?
Â
Thank you,
Tim

Ansys EmployeeHello Tim,Â
CFD-Post does not yet support the .h5 files. Please export the files from Fluent in .cdat format to have the best compatibility with CFD-Post.
Thanks,
Kalyan

SubscriberKaylan,
This is what I ended up doing... Why does CFD post not have that ability if fluent 2020R1 defaults to solving with .h5? Seems like CFD-post is under powered to me.
Thanks for the help,
Tim

Ansys EmployeeHello Tim,Â
I believe this feature is under-development.Unfortunately, that's the most I can share at this point.Â
Thanks,

Ansys EmployeeWith 2020R2 that is possible. However we still recommend users to export cdat files from Fluent to be pos-processed within CFD-Post.
