Sub-modelling – force based

How can one do force-based sub modelling?

As far as I have seen, a displacement-based sub-modelling can be easily done when coarse and fine models have is a solid body. In the new version of ANSYS, there is a possibility to do force-based sub-modelling. However, the pre-requisite is to have beam elements in the coarse model and the fine model can have shell elements or solid elements. I tried to convert the element, where I want to set up a cut boundary, into beam element, but SpaceClaim gives an error there.

Is there any way how the solid to solid, force-based modelling can be done?

      Hi AmbarNaik,

I am not an expert in sub-modeling, but does this documentation help?

      Regards,

      Wenlong
