SubscriberHello everyone,
I am trying to get axial force in a cable modeled using beam element. I used elout from ascii options to do that and also I created histroy beam keyword in database section. The elout file is generated and also loads but every time I try to plot the resultant force of the section created using keyword history beam, LS prepost program curshes and closes by itself. I tired to do it multiple times and even reduced the nuber of selected nodes but still not working. I need someone help who experienced similar issue.
Thanks

Ansys EmployeeHello User,
- Please ensure you are utilizing the latest version of LS-PrePost. If not, the most recent release is available for download here: Index
- If you have already minimized the number of selected nodes, consider further reducing the quantity of beam elements or time steps included in the elout file, as excessive data may result in memory limitations or application crashes.
- Should the elout workflow continue to encounter failures, it is recommended to use the binary d3plot file. Set BEAMIP>0 on *DATABASE_EXTENT_BINARY to output beam integration point data, then utilize LS-PrePost’s Post > Fringe Component > Beam to review axial force and stress distributions.
- For time history plots, navigate to Post > Hist with E-Type: Beam, and select either ‘Element’ or ‘Int Pt’ to display axial force or stress. If issues persist during this step, attempt to plot fewer elements or reduce the time interval.
Regards,
Nanda.
