Fluent Meshing – Modular mesh

      Dear support,

I am exploring the possibility of start using Fluent meshing in my projects and I would like to know if it is possible to generate modular meshes. Since I am not sure if it would be called the same in the software, let me explain my goal. I would like to find a way to generate local replacements in a fluid region to evaluate different designs while keeping the most part of the grid frozen between simulations (and therefore speeding up the mesh generation process). Like this I make sure that the differences in the simulations are due to the different concepts and not due to the remeshing of the whole fluid regions. This is specially convenient when doing parametric studies for devices like F1 front wings, winglets, or local changes in a large mesh. Could someone specify the steps required or refer me to a source where I can read more about it? I couldn't find a reliable source where this is clearly explained.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi, from what you are describing I think a body of influence approach would fit the need you are describing. Take a look here for more info and let us know if there are any further capabilities you're looking for. There are some tutorials for body of influence meshing that can help you get started if this looks appropriate.
