How to calculate lift coefficient from Cl plot

      Hi,

I am wondering what is the normal practice to calculate the lift coefficient from Cl plot? Do we get the average of all the values starting from the stabilized state or do we only get the maximum and minimum peaks average? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

      Hello,

You can compute the lift coefficient directly from Fluent.

Solution -- Definitions -- Force Report -- Lift.

In the new window, select the surface, make sure lift coefficient is selected and click on compute.

      Thank you for the response.

Do you mean this force report? So basically it's the Cl plot but we extract the maximum positive value from it?

yes that report. You can then there tick average over to get running average. If you want to extract the maximum value I would rather use a third party editor to read the outfile if your are not proficient in UDF.
