Hello,

I was wondering if its possible to calculate the photonic band strcuture of a given device using RCWA model?

And if so how is it done?

Hello and thank you for contacting us.

 

We don’t have a workflow available for calculating the photonic band structure using RCWA, but it should be possible.

There are some methods discussing the photonic band structure calculation using the transmission and reflection coefficients and looking at phase changes: A Novel Method for Band Structure Analysis of Photonic Crystal Slabs | IEEE Journals & Magazine | IEEE Xplore. In this paper RCWA is also mentioned.
