SubscriberHi everyone,
I am importing a cad file in IGES format to ls dyna pre-post. The file consist of 2 solid bodies, one with 0.45 mm thickness.
After importing the model, the part with lower thickness is coming as a shell part after meshing and volume meshing is not working on it.Â
Is there any way to resolve this issue or how to import models with higher complexity with more than 1 part in ls dyna
Regards
Raghav

Ansys EmployeeHello Raghav,
IGES is a neutral file format, so an import issue can occur. Please try to import other file formats.
If you want to work only with an IGES file, you need to stitch the missing faces and convert the shell model to a Solid model inside the LSPP itself.
You can also mesh the geometry in Workbench LS-DYNA and bring the *.k file in LSPP for further setup.Â
