We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Maxwell 3D – Lorentz Force

      Hi,

For a simple Magnetostatic setup involving a cylindrical core and coil, when analyzing the force applied to the coil (Lorentz type), is it safe to assume that the results of the paremetric simulation correspond to the "thrust force" in a practical sense? or is there more to it? I am trying to understand the physical meaning behind the simulation results (Force_mag vs. Amp plot... attached my setup for reference).

      Maxwell 3D Setup

      Regards,

Hi, if you are running paremetric simulation, the force calculation will be each individual static analysis. You can use transient, if you want to consider motion.
