Dear Subscriber,
The first and last layers define the media before and after the stack. Their thicknesses represent the distances for the plane wave source and monitor. In cases without absorption, their thicknesses do not affect the results, so they can be set to 0. Please refer to the following article: STACK - Simulation Object.
In this specific case, since there are only two layers and one interface between them, both thicknesses are set to 0. Feel free to change them; this should not affect the results.
