How to read test results for Explicit Dynamic analysis

      Hello,

I conducted an explicit dynamic analysis where an specimen (wood-oak) hits a frame (AL-alloy) with glass (General glass) with 80 ft/s. end time given is t = 0.0015 sec, the only boundary condition applied was fix support on the corners of the frame. Here are my question's,

Is this the correct energy summary plot is what it should look like?

How can i plot just the internal and the kinetic energies?

How do i conclude that this analysis is good to go and In general what do I always have to look for to ensure that the test I performed is accurate and the solutions are correct?

Could you please explain in detail. Thanks alot and much appreciated!

      Hi Sara,

Please check the video below where the topic of energy balance in explicit dynamic analysis is discussed: Energy Balance in Explicit Dynamics - Lesson 4

To access the internal energy and kinetic energy, right-click on Solution Information and insert kinetic/internal energy (see the screenshot below). You can then scope it to the geometry of interest.
