Hey,
I'm currently working with ANSYS Mechanical for my Bachelor's Thesis. To simulate my geometry in Mechanical, I need to do a lot of Pre-Processing in SpaceClaim.
The import from Spaceclaim to mechanical worked fine the whole day until I finished the pre-processing of the assembly (I do checks in between to see if Mechanical is able to generate a proper mesh for one component and then continue with another component of the assembly). Then I got the error messages: "Plugin Error: Failed to import assembly from SpaceClaim. The object is deleted." and "Plugin Error: Update failed"
However when I open the geometry in SpaceClaim everything works just fine (physics is activated for the components that I need right now).ÂI already deleted the Static Structural System, and created a new one. However the error persists. I restarted Workbench and changed the settings beforehand as shown here: Configuring SpaceClaim and Ansys
I hope someone can help. I'm using Workbench 2024R2. Unfortunately, I have very limited access to the drives and files as I'm working on a public PC at Uni.

FYI Loading the geometry into discovery and then transferring it to Mechanical does in fact work. I'm worried that data might be lost in translation but it's currently the only working solution for me...

Hello
Try suppressing some of the parts in SpaceClaim to try and narrow down the cause to a given part.Â
Occasionally, Shared Topology Operations or Coordinate systems can casue issue too..Â
SpaceClaim is being retired at 25.1. It may be best to consider using Discovery for your future modeling needsÂÂ
