SubscriberHi, I encountered a problem with fluent 18.2.Â
I tried to simulate the velocity field inside a mixer. But I found I could not draw pathline for this mixer, no matter starting from the inlets or the outlet(reversed). I tried to draw mesh with ICEM and mesh, both 18.2
Nearly all the path lines failed, and the the console said: Can't figure which cell particle is going to -- ABORT Cannot find intersecting face for particle 210 -- ABORT
It seems that the failures happen at the interface of wider channel and smaller channel.
Thanks in advance.

Forum ModeratorDo you have a non-conformal mesh at that location? Please plot the velocity vectors on a plane through the cylinder centreline (plane of constant x or y).Â

Forum ModeratorPossibly, but I'd look to improve the mesh for accuracy reasons too. If you reduce the step length in the Pathline panel it may help: the jump in cell size is also likely to cause problems.Â
