SubscriberGood morning, I'm doing a submodeling analysys on a small part of a shaft where I have keyway and seeger groove. The full model is a cutted symmetric model. The sub model part has some contact region of the full model, has one remote displacement, has one symmetry plane coming from the full model.
When I right click on submodeling-insert I have 3 options: insert cut boundary constraints, insert cut boundary remote force, insert cut boundary remote constraints.
Can you explain me how to proceed? in all the tutorial I've seen there was only insert displacement and it was simpler
thanks for your help

SubscriberHow to set up sub-modeling and insert displacement for the above shaft? Which face i have to select to transfer displacement: Symmetry plane, contact area, cutted face? Thanks

SubscriberHave you solved the coarse model? You must have a solution on the coarse (large) model.
You must cut away from the coarse model, using planes or surfaces, all the parts that are touching. You can't just pull the shaft out on its own.
Show the solution of the coarse model and the geometry of the cut away submodel.

SubscriberAlready done, the only problem I have is that when I right click on submodeling-insert I have 3 options: insert cut boundary constraints, insert cut boundary remote force, insert cut boundary remote constraints. I choose the first option, but I don't know which face to select -

SubscriberWhat do these three options mean? -Â Â insert cut boundary constraints, insert cut boundary remote force, insert cut boundary remote constraints.
Â
In earlier version of Ansys there was only one option of applying displacement.
Â
Also, I read in some technical papers that if the stiffness of the cut model changes due to changes in geometry, it is recommended to use force based sub-model. How do one create force based sub-model in latest version of Ansys?
