Hello,
I am using CESE solver to simulate adiabatic expansion of compressed H2 gas (700bar) into surrounding air using chemkin mechanism. H2 should react with O2 to form water.
It is found that there was no ignition at h2-air interface. but when I patch few elements surrounding compressed H2 gas with product H2O, then I can see combustion happening at gas -air interface. I was wondering why presence of H2O has strong influence on ignition. Is it related to turbulence model or CESE solver? or chemkin mechanism? Can you share the equations related to ignition mechanism in CESE solver.

Hello Atish,
Which LS-DYNA keywords are you using? Could you post your main keywords here as text?
Note that Ansys employees cannot updload and download files on the Ansys Forum.
If you are a commercial customer, please create a support case on ACSS and we will have a look at your model:

Let me know how it goes.

Why LS-Dyna comes under export controlled compliance? How to reach out for help being an academic user?
Do you provide any paid technical assistance for academic license users?
Regards,
Atish

Hello Atish,
The application could be export controlled/ITAR for military purposes and we have no way of verifying this information on the Ansys Forum. You are doing ignition of compressed H2 and so this could be a weapon.
If your academic institution owns a commercial Ansys license, you should be eligible to technical support on ACSS (customer.ansys.com).
You can contact your Ansys account manager for other ways you can get technical support.
Let me know how it goes.
