Hi everyone
I invstigate how soil media reacts on blast. In this problem I use Lagrange approach.
First, I try used MAT_SOIL_AND_FOAM. In this way soil tensile but doesn't erode. After that, I tried MAT_FHWA_SOIL and again I didn't have result which I expect.
I need to soil erode and flew away in different side after blast. What I need to do and what material model use. I think about SPH mesh.Â
Could you please give me some advise how can I solve this problem.

Hi, the soil element becomes distorted when subjected to an explosion, thus the calculation will be unstable, especially for the LAG method. Â We can assign the soil as multi-materials ALE and set the ELFORM of *SECTION_SOLID to 11. If you still have a problem, feel free to contact me.
By the way, the parameters of soil can be found on the LSTC website.

Thanks for your answer. Sound like a good idea.Â
Can you give link on page with soil parameters?Â

Thanks again! This article look interesting, especially for geotechnical engineer.Â
