Question about friction force applied at interface after slip

      Hello, everyone

I'm researching about break-away simulation using static structural tool

Slip occured between two component when external force occured, and it got new static equlibrium condition after slip

In this state, how force applied at interface? static friction? dynamic friction? or other force?

In addition, I have curious how ansys static structural calculate friction force at interface

I attached visual explanation data for your understand.

      Thank you

The code uses columb's friction law to enforce resistence to sliding.

Please refer to Section 13.174 of the MAPDL Theory Manual for formulas and more details.  13.174. CONTA174 - 3D 8-Node Surface-to-Surface Contact (ansys.com)
