[Mechanical APDL] Reducing element load balance ratio in a model with contacts

In Mechanical APDL, I have a model with 3 contact pairs - all of them are "Bonded (Always)" type and are surface to surface. The element load balance ratio for this problem is ~7.6, which way higher than the recommended value of 1. There are geometric and material nonlinearities as well in the model. The solve time currently is ~28 hours with 144 cores of HPC. Is there a way to reduce the load balance ratio and/or reduce the solve time?

which version are you using? Which contact elements are you using? Please check the following page for more information about solving large contact models in DMP environment:

Thanks for the link you shared.

Version is 2022R2. Element types are CONTA174 and TARGE170.

conta174 should be supported for contact splitting, conta175 is not, as mentioned in the last section. Please try using contact splitting techniques and see if it helps improve the load balance ratio and performance.
