Hi,
I'd like to model the effect of a thin layer of oxide on my device capacitance and inductance. This is done by implementing a 10um*5nm strip of oxide on top of the metal (10um*145nm), with the region size at 630um*800um). Simulation throws an error "Couldn't find perimeter of closed object. Possible reason: some dimensions may be too small. Please try classic mesh!"
I previously had a discussion on using classic mesh. I now need to explicitly simulate this small model object with the given region size. Please give advice on what can be done to make the simulation run.

Hi,
Please follow up on this topic. Setting up non-model regions and equating the D field in the case where there would be oxide to calculate the participation ratio has significant limitations in result accuracy. In the 2D solver, I cannot modify the model resolution, nor can I switch to classic mesh. Taken at face value there seem to be a big limitation of the software for calculations related to thin layers.

Hello Chi,
Is it possible for you to use 3D model with classic mesh? In 2D's initial mesh settings, we can enter a small tolerance for model resolution in advanced tab, but I do not think it can resolve the problem.Â
