Hi all,
When I double click 'model' to open Ansys Mechanical. It opens a plain grey window but the program never materializes. After minutes of waiting I close the grey window and I get an error in the main workbench window that says:
" Error while waiting for Mechanical initialization to complete. Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it."
Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how have they resolved it?
Thanks in advance,

Hello,
Couple ideas:
make sure no Ansys Programs are running.
rename the %APPDATA%\Ansys\v241 directory to v241.old  Â
(change v241 to version you are using)
Now try to run. Also, check the Graphics card driver. verify that it is up to date.
Check that forewal and anti virus are not bloacking anything. (Try running with them disabled, as a test)

Hello George,
Thank you so much for replying.
I confirmed that no Ansys programs are running and that the Graphics card driver is up to date.
I still have the same issue.
What do you mean by %APPDATA%\Ansys\v241Â directory?
Is it the Ansys directory in the program files? once I changed that name Ansys stop working.
Could you give more elaboration?
