Hi Fatemeh,

The in-built optimization tool in Lumerical allows you to optimize just a single value. So, you wont be able to optimize the whole matrix/multiple values. There are a couple of ways to address this. If you want to have the highest transmission for S21, what you can do is add a few lines of code to extract this result from EME in the Anaysis script of "model". Then create |S21|^2 as a result which can be fed into the Optimization tool to be maximized.
