SubscriberHello,
I am writing my Bachelor thesis. For the first calculations I created a project with 95 KB with the student version Ansys Workbench Version 19.0. However, the given number of nodes of 295,000 is not sufficient for these calculations.
That's why I want to open the project at the university with the full version 17.0.
Due to the version difference the project cannot be opened.
The following error appears: "The project was saved in a higher product version and cannot be opened".
Is it possible to compress or convert the project to open the project and edit it further?
Thank you very much.
Edith

Forum ModeratorIt's not normally possible to open files on older versions of the code: that is changing with the current release for some models though. How did you generate the R19 model?

SubscriberThank you for your answer.
I created my CAD model with Solid Works 2017 SP03 and saved it as Step AP203.
Then the file was imported into Academic Student 2019 R1 (FENSAP-ICE 2019 R1). Then I prepared the project in Ansys (force, mounting). Then I saved the project as a WBPJ file.
This project cannot be opened with Ansys version 17. -

Forum ModeratorYes, again it's slightly solver specific so some Fluent cases will open in older versions (with several warnings). Workbench is not able to open files created in a newer version. n
