Hi,Â
I want to simulate a loop antenna around an infinitely long PEC cylinder whose radius is smaller than the radius of the loop. How can we simulate that in HFSS?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi Smani,Â
First, is the rod radius and loop electrically small? If so, you can use Q3D instead of HFSS.Â
If they are comparable with wavelength, use HFSS. You can start with some length of the rod and do parametric increase of the length until your observables are reasonably stable and not changing with changing length.. The airbox you create around this should touch the rod on top and bottom. For boundary condition you can either set everything as Rad, or use Perfect H on the top and bottom of airbox and Rad on the side wall.Â
I suggest that you create the rod and aorbox as faceted cylinders (not purely circular cylinders) which is going to help mesh and speed up.Â
