SubscriberHello. I am working on a Maxwell 3D design analysis. I am designing a 3D model using Autodesk Fusion and importing the model into Ansys. When I import the model, I receive the folloing error message:
[error] Parasolid Error: Failed in function PK_TOPOL_facet_2 with error PK_ERROR_system_error.
The component I've designed in Fusion is made up of multiple parts. Prior to exporting the model, I combine them all into one. Interestingly, I find that I don't get the error when they are imported separately. However, it would be significantly easier if I could import it as one part.
Any ideas on what this error means?

Ansys EmployeeHello Luc,
I have some several suggestions.
First, you can proceed with your workaround as it sounds like a robust way to bring the model inside the AEDT exchanging inconvenience while it’s a time-consuming procedure.
Secondly, I suggest contacting Ansys Technical Support. (If you hace access to). That way, your issue will be investigated in depth being able to get an answer oriented to this specific model.
Furthermore, there is also a chance of a “bad” geometry export/import from Autodesk Fusion. Thus, before proceeding to AEDT, the geometry should be imported in a “healed”/”good” state. You can try using Ansys SpaceClaim or Ansys Discovery in order to process the geometry file. You will be able to import the model from Autodesk Fusion as there are a great number of supported file formats. Also, if there are issues regarding the object’s construction, there might be a chance to “heal” those errors completely and proceed with a proper export for the AEDT geometry kernel (Parasolid Binary file format)
Kind regards,
Jason.
