SubscriberHi...
I am try to get the slamming loads on a ship structure using ANSYS AQWA. I input "1" as slamming load factor and also modeled a "disc element" at the bow of the ship. For the "Time Response Analysis" I used "0.0001" as the "time-step". The "Animation" shows that the "Disc Element" is entering and exiting the water. Despite all this the "Structure Forces" with subtype "Slam Only" shows zero force for the entire simulation in regular or irrgular waves in all DOF. Can anybody help me in this regrad please?
Thanks

Ansys EmployeePlease try to use either circular tube elements or slender tube elements for slamming force.

SubscriberThanks for the response...
Is it possible to compute slamming force on differaction and/or non-differaction elements?

Ansys EmployeeI am sorry that Aqwa cannot calculate the slamming force on panels.
