SubscriberHello ANSYS community:
I am just learning how to use ANSYS Electronics Desktop. I am trying to select RMxprt with Machine Type as "Adjust Speed Synchronous Machine" but I do not see this machine type displayed in the project manager. No matter what type of machine I select under RMxprt it always says "generic rotating machine" in the project manager.
Why is this and how do I correct this?

Ansys EmployeeIn addition, if you are using Release 19.1 in the Electromagnetics Desktop 2018.1, there is an issue that was fixed in subsequent versions.Â
The quick workaround here is to instead, from the Desktop tab, click on Open Examples, and navigate to the path: RMxprt/assm/assm-1.aedt (or any of the other examples in that folder, and use this as a starting point to design your machine. Â

Thank you very much. I am using EM 19.1 and I followed your instructions of navigating through the "Open Examples" folder and now I am able to select any of the RMxprt machines. I knew there was something wrong and I was not aware it had to do with the version I am using. When I try to select "Machine Type" from the ribbon tab, I do not see the options "standard" or "generate Rmxprt solutions" or any kind of options. Instead of seeing the options like in your screen shot I only see the list of machines. But now I know this does not really matter because I can access the RMxprt machines through the example folders.Â
Thank you!

Are there any other issues with EM 19.1 that you are aware of that I should know about?Â
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Now I am able to select a non-generic rotating machine by navigating to the example folders as you suggested. However, when I select a 3-phase induction machine, for example, I do not see a circuit option under the rotating machine in the project manager. From the pdfs I have been reading and seeing I always see there is a circuit option under the rotating machine. Is this circuit option supposed to show up automatically or was this added manually? Also, I do not know what other issues version 19.1 has. Can you inform me of some of the issues you are aware of with 19.1 so that I can be aware of them myself?
Thank you!
Respectfully,
David Giglio
