Hi , I'm simulation in the freq band from 1-18GHz, the simulation tooks me more than 46 hours, can someone recommand what the setup paramteres should i set. I ma simulating with Broadband 1-18 Max Number passes 3 and Maximum Delta S 0.02. Sweep Type Discrete and Points 100. Please advice someone who experienced the same issue. Thanks

Hello,

It seems like your model is complex. Can you please share your system configurations (RAM, memory, cores, etc.) on which you are simulating this model?

Please try the following options to reduce the simulation time:

1. Use the multi-frequency option instead of broadband.
2. Discrete frequency will take more time to simulate because it solves the problem at each frequency point. So, decrease the number of points for the fast frequency sweep or change it to interpolating frequency sweep, which is faster than discrete.
3. Use HPC settings to utilize the machine resources and boost the simulation speed.

Yes, the design is litle bit complex and the frequency band is wide. 

 

Fortenately that the machine has 256RAM memory, core 64 (can be add more up to 100). 

 

Num. variations to distribute is 1, can i increase , does it help in speed of simulation?

 

By changing the sweep to interpolating may lost the acurency, i need also the acurency in this simulation.

I will try to optimize the machine resourse in HPC settings, hope it will help to speed it up.

Hello Everyone!

I seem to be facing the same issue. My frequency range is from 0.5 - 50 GHz with a step size of 0.1 (or minimum 0.01).

Maximum delta = 0.005 (have also tried 0.2)

No. of passes = 25

Operating frequency = 25.25

 Would it be possible to tell me what may be the reason for such slow simulations? And is there a way I can make it faster?

Note: I am plotting the S11 and gain paramters for an antenna.
