I have same problem "Process '3dedy' terminated abnormally or insufficient memory". If the mesh element reaches more than usually (110000-120000) number of elements, simualated stops with 3dedy error. What is the reason for this? I increased my RAM from 16 GB to 48 GB, but I still face the same issue. Is this the limitation or issue with the software itself?Â

Hello Anish,
Thank you for your question. Is it possible you have exceeded the number of elements your license allows? For example, Ansys Electronics Desktop Student version has a restriction on element count.Â

Thank you for the reply. I use university licensed software, not student version.

How to solve this problem? I have been trying to solve this problem from several months. But still not been able to solve this. IÂ

Dear Anish,
If there is no license issue involved, this problem could have many causes. Mainly, it could be indeed due to the complexity of the model. It is not impossible for a simulation to use more RAM than 48GB. You can take steps to simplify this. First, I would advise you to check the HPC settings (tools > options > HPC and analysis options) and adjust them according to your computer's capabilities. If parametric simulation is used, I would advise you not to run the parametric simulations in parallel, as it takes up more RAM. Finally, if the mesh is too "heavy", assigning mesh operations would help to keep the mesh dense on the parts of the model that need accuracy and make the mesh coarse (and therefore "lighter" for the simulation) on the rest of the model.
