I've installed a client Ansys and have checked the server computer is OK.
I can run the mechanical APDL, but the analysis systems which belong to mechanical APDL solver type can't find in the analysis systems window within Workbench such as static structural and eigenvalue.

I quite need help...

Hi Tun-Ching Yang,

You can try the following two methods:
1) In the lower right corner of the Toolbox you will find a "view all/customize" buttion. This will open a window and checked applications wil show up in the Toolbox.
2) If approach 1 does not work -- complete exit the Ansys Mechanical Program-- click on the Start Button and enter the command %appdata%-- this will open a file manager window-- change folders to Ansys-- look for the folder named "v followed by version number", for example for 2023R1 - v231. Then rename it to an arbitrary name. Ansys Mechanical will recreate this folder the first time you restart Ansys Mechanical.

If both these approaches don't work, you can also try restarting the license server.

When very few systems show in the Ansys toolbox, this means workbench can’t access the license features for these analysis systems. If it is a license served from another machine, you can’t always restart the license server, and this may not be the solution anyway. You may just have a disconnection on your network to the license machine. You should be able to run the “Ansys Client License Settings” in the program menu, and then press “Features in Use.”

Older versions may require a different selection to get this information, such as “FlexNet Publisher License Status” or “Gather Diagnostics.” See if it can access the license server, if the daemon is up, and finally the features listed. There are several features that allow opening Mechanical for static structural or modal, buckling: ansys, preppost, mech_1, mech_2, etc…

It may also be that the license is up and the features exist, but if your company has few tasks of each feature, they may be all taken by other users. The number of licenses issued and in use will be reported for each feature.

You might need to specify the license port and host under the first selection: “License servers.”

Hi Forum Members

 

I have been grappling with a persistent issue for quite some time now and would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights you can offer.

The problem I'm facing is related to Rocky (Particle Dynamics) within the Workbench environment. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to locate Rocky in the available tools. Here are the steps I've taken so far:

I have installed and reinstalled Rocky and Ansys using the latest versions available.

Before each installation attempt, I made sure to delete the Ansys Inc folder to ensure a clean installation.

I have tried various other troubleshooting methods mentioned in forums and documentation.

It's worth mentioning that both Workbench and Rocky appear to be working fine as standalone applications. However, when I access Workbench, Rocky is nowhere to be found among the available tools.

 

I also checked my license settings à Features in use, and it seems that there are at least 20 licenses still available for practically every tool. Currently, our institution is on holiday, so there should be no issues related to license availability.

 

Despite all my efforts, the problem persists, and I'm unsure about what else to try. If any of you have encountered a similar situation or have any ideas about what might be causing this issue, your prompt responses and constructive inputs would be highly appreciated.
