SubscriberHello,
I am calculating attenuation (real part of Gamma) in a transmission line with HFSS. But the results are not in range with what I calculate from ABCD matrix.
I want to know how HFSS calculates GAMMA?
I am using S-parameters calculated from HFFS and plugging them into the following equations to calculate Gamma:

Thank you.

Bbp_moderatorHi Liu,
HFSS treats ports are connected to the transmission lines of the same cross-section and gamma is the propagation constant of that transmission line. Please go through the "Complex Propagation Constant" section of the HFSS help document for detailed information about the same.
Best regards,
Praneeth.
