SubscriberHello,
I want to design cable with 1D element in Explicit Dynamic (Autodyn) to reduce the computing time. The multilinear material model is ideal for my experimental data. In the tensile test the model produces the experimental curve with high accuracy. But it also provides a significant resistance to compression which is not a desirable behavior. If someone could provide some indication of a solution to my problem (e.g. how to creating 1D Tension only member), I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.Â

Ansys Employee1D tension only beam elements are not available in Explicit Dynamics system in Workbench.
You may consider to use cable elements in the LS-DYNA system or Transient Structural analysis system. The cable elements in these two systems are tension only.
