SubscriberDear all,
I will be simulating fan noise for my thesis and I was wondering if i could use CFX for the CFD part of the analysis (unsteady simulation) and then use the acoustic solver incorporated in Fluent. Does anyone have such experience or knows if such compability is possible ?
Thank you in advance

Ansys EmployeeHello,
What method are you planning to use? There are different acoustic models in Fluent that usually go hand-in-hand with the rest of the simulation (still in Fluent).
If you have sampled data at specific microphones locations and just want to perform an FFT analysis of the signals, then that could be done separately in Fluent as long as you have the correct file format (like and .xy format)

SubscriberThank you for your response
What I would like to do is extract unsteady pressure data from a CFX simulation, and then import them in Fluent to use the FW-H equations to calculate SPL- directivity plots at different mic locations.
