How to define the earth (means ground)?

      Hello,

In the Capacitive Coupling Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system I am studying, the electrode-to-ground (earth) capacitance needs to be considered.

But I'm not sure how to define the earth.

I tried a method of placing a metal plate under the object to be measured and connecting it to the ground.

Please let me know if there is another better way.

The software I am using is ANSYS Electronics Desktop 2021 R1 (HFSS), and the simulation frequency is from 1MHz to 100MHz.

      Thank you.

Please share more details regarding your model setup to help us serve you better.
I would like to know the reasons behind the selection of HFSS for solving your model at the said simulation frequency.
      All the very best.

Thank you very much for your reply!
As an experiment, I made a parallel plate capacitor device as shown in the attached image.
The analysis space is a rectangle of air surrounding the device.
I did not set any boundary conditions for the analysis space.

Since HFSS is the only analysis software available in my lab, I chose this one.

Do you need any other information?
