I already have used TB, ANISO in static structural tool in Workbench, using the APDL code in the Model subchapter of design. However, unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to use it in explicit dynamics (or LS DYNA), since the APDL code cannot be applied to it. Is there any possibility of using it, or are there any other methods that can model with the same applicability? I need to model a bilinear orthotopic material which has different strength in tension and compression.

As you said TB,ANISO is apdl, and
does not apply to LS-Dyna and AUOTODYN (explicit dyn.).
What type of structure and material are you modelling and what type of failure do you expect?

July 12, 2021 at 12:29 pmxhassanvSubscriberwell first of all thank you for your reply.
I modelled the bending of a wooden beam. I used the command tab in static structural and it was ok. however, for explicit dynamic, there is no option for command-tab for defining TB, ANISO for my material(maybe there is an option yet I couldn't find it yet.). The wood can be assumed to be a bilinear orthotropic material which the tension and compression properties are different.
Is it possible to apply TB, ANISO in Autodyn? if yes, how can it be done?

As we said, TB,ANISO is apdl (so can only be used with static structural system as an example and not with explicit dynamics, which is the autodyn solver), and
does not apply to LS-Dyna and AUOTODYN (explicit dyn.), so you can not use this in explicit dynamics.
Look at *MAT 143 in LS-dyna (google search for wood and ls-dyna) , which is used for wood.
(Unfortunately I have never used this so I can help more)

July 13, 2021 at 7:39 amxhassanvSubscriberIs there any material model in LS-DYNA and AUTODYN that has nonlinear orthotropic properties and the compression and tension are not the same?
there is the Hill criteria but unfortunately, it has no difference between the tension and compression.

Please read through the messages we write, otherwise we are repeating the same thing all over again.
So see my previous post, where we said, since you model wood , there is a wood model in ls dyna, called mat 143 in LS-Dyna, which has different strengths in tension and compression in different directions - I have never used it so you need to search the ls dyna manual and the internet for more info (e.g., Characterization of Maple and Ash Material Properties for the Finite Element Modeling of Wood Baseball Bats).

July 14, 2021 at 7:47 amxhassanvSubscriberDear Erik
thank you for your guidance but I must inform you that the MAT 143 is transversely isotropic. Actually, I really enjoyed the abilities of this element and I will definitely use it in my future research but I need an orthotropic nonlinear material with different tension and compression strength. The nonlinearity and orthotropic of material alongside different tension and compression is my priority.
all the best
