SubscriberWe have two software for which we need to configure the license server(s). They are granta and lumerical.
Could we run two ansys license servers on the same machine serving licenses for the two software via two different ports for this purpose?
or
Is it possible to have one license server serve licenses for multiple ansys products?
Which is the preferred way?

Forum ModeratorIf the licenses have the same hostname and hostid they can be combined and installed through a single Ansys License Manager setup. You cannot run 2 instances of the license manager on a single machine. If combining the licenses, you need to only have one SERVER and one VENDOR line in the file.
Example:
SERVER licserve 105156ac6b01 1055
VENDOR ansyslmd
USE_SERVER
#first license
# Products licensed in this file:
# LIST OF PRODUCTS
INCREMENTS of 1st license file
#second license
# Products licensed in this file:
# LIST OF PRODUCTS
INCREMENTS of 2nd license file

SubscriberThanks. It is very helpful. We work via command line on linux. Is there an ansys utility to combine license files or can we just do it manually?

Forum ModeratorYou need to do it manually, with any text editor.
