width=This course covers the fundamental principles of thermodynamics and exergy balance. It provides a comprehensive understanding of how to calculate mass, temperature, entropy, and exergy changes in different scenarios. For instance, one lesson focuses on a complex thermodynamics problem involving a piston-cylinder arrangement with a 1 kg mass of water initially enclosed within a volume of 1 cubic meter. The course also delves into the specifics of refrigerant 134a being throttled at different pressures and temperatures, and the assumptions made during this process. Furthermore, it discusses the adiabatic turbine process involving steam, where the power output of the turbine and the reversible power output are calculated. The course concludes with the calculation of the second law efficiency.
