The quality of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation can depend crucially on the selected turbulence model, and it is important to make the proper model choice. In this lesson, we will learn about turbulent flows, the different modeling approaches, and the various turbulence models available in Ansys Fluent. We will learn how to calculate the Reynolds number to determine whether the flow is turbulent. We will then discuss the practical aspects of RANS turbulence model selection, which offers the most economic approach for computing complex turbulent industrial flows.
