In this video, the idea of vector, tensor and scalar fields is discussed. The concept of a field for these quantities is explained, including how for each of these fields —scalar field, vector field and tensor field, a time derivative can be defined with the help of some actual quantities.
Continuing from the previous lesson where the derivative with respect to time is already explained, this video starts with the spatial derivative of the scalar, vector, and tensor fields. The gradient, divergence, and curl of a vector are explained here. It is shown that for tensors divergence is mostly used.
