The property of tensors that is explained in this video is Eigenvalue Decomposition. An Eigenvalue problem is defined, and we show that a tensor satisfies its own characteristic equation. This will be useful at many places in continuum mechanics. The spectral decomposition of symmetric tensors is also shown.
