Throughout this course, we explored how to integrate Ansys Rocky™ particle dynamics simulation software with different tools from the Ansys ecosystem to perform advanced analyses that combine particle dynamics with fluids, structures, motion and optimization.
Each lesson addressed a specific type of coupling, highlighting its application, configuration and analysis of results.
- Ansys Rocky software +Ansys Fluent software: We investigated CFD-DEM coupling to simulate fluid-particle interactions, covering everything from the configuration in Fluent to the analysis of momentum transfer between phases.
- Ansys Rocky software +Ansys Mechanical software: We explored FEA-DEM integration to evaluate structural loads on surfaces impacted by particles, configuring the coupling and interpreting the deformation and stress results.
- Ansys Rocky software +Ansys Motion software: We demonstrated how to synchronize rigid and flexible bodies in Ansys Motion software with Ansys Rocky software's particle dynamics, ensuring realistic motion and impact analyses.
- Ansys Rocky software + Ansys optiSLang software: We apply Ansys Rocky software variable-based optimization to improve designs, using optiSLang software to evaluate the influence of parameters and find optimized solutions.
