Intro to Heat Transfer Modeling in Ansys Fluent — Lesson 1

Ansys Fluent is a versatile software that provides a comprehensive simulation platform for solving heat transfer problems. It can simulate the three major modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. Additionally, it can also model complex heat transfer processes such as conjugate heat transfer, natural convection, and so on.

In this lesson, we will first understand how to enable the calculation of heat transfer and the need for using the double precision solver. We will also learn the importance of defining the thermal boundary conditions and setting up the values for thermal conductivity and specific heat. Finally, we will emphasize why it is crucial to check the energy balance using energy fluxes to ensure convergence of the results.
