Accurately modeling the thermal behavior of walls is crucial for obtaining reliable results in heat transfer simulations. In this lesson, we will be exploring the three different options for modeling conduction heat transfer in Ansys Fluent. The first option is to mesh the wall thickness as a solid zone, and the second option is to assign a wall thickness and material in the boundary conditions panel for 1D conduction. The third option is to enable Shell Conduction for simulating conduction both across and parallel to the wall. We will also learn how to use the Conduction Manager feature to define and manage conduction settings quickly and easily for multiple walls, plus how to save and load these settings using CSV files.
