width=This course covers the complex dynamics of non-Newtonian fluids flow, focusing on the transition and turbulent flow in pipes, along inclined surfaces, and between parallel plates. It starts with a recap of the derivation of velocity profiles, volumetric flow rates, and friction factors for different types of fluids. The course then delves into the criteria for transition from laminar to turbulent flow, discussing the critical Reynolds number and how it varies depending on the fluid's behavior. It also covers the friction factor for viscoplastic fluids under different conditions. The course concludes with practical examples and problem-solving exercises to reinforce the concepts learned, such as calculating the volumetric flow rate for an Ellis model fluid flowing down an inclined surface.
