Get Started

This course will teach you how to take your 3D single blade design of a turbomachine (pump, turbine, fan, compressor) to the next level, by including additional components to your simulation - like additional stationary and/or rotating blade rows, housings, return channels, and so on – to understand and improve the interactions between the various components of your machine.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Combine primary rotating turbomachinery parts (impellers, rotors, …)
  • Combine primary stationary parts (inlet or outlet guide vanes, volutes, machine housing, …)
  • Combine secondary parts (return channels, cooling chambers, …)
  • Analyze and optimize your complete machine performance using the Ansys Turbosystem.

Prerequisites:

  • Turbomachinery Design: 1D/2D Conceptual Design
  • Turbomachinery Design: 3D Single Blade Optimization

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2021R1 release.
