You will get an overview about the usage of connecting Ansys optiSLang® process integration and design optimization software and Ansys LS-DYNA® nonlinear dynamics structural simulation software in the optiSLang application. For this application we will use a mass which falls onto an Impact Damper. Moreover, a Sensitivity Analysis of this Impact Damper will be conducted.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:

  • Automatize text-based Ansys LS-DYNA simulation process in the optiSLang application using LS-DYNA Nodes applying the Solver Wizard.
  • Create scalar responses using the Ansys LS-Extractor.
  • Use of Sensitivity Wizard.
  • Understand Information of the Postprocessing for Sensitivity.

Prerequisites:

  • Basic knowledge about optiSLang is recommended which can be obtained by completing the Ansys optiSLang Getting Started course.
  • Besides Ansys optiSLang, you should be familiar with Ansys LS-DYNA.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2026 R1 release.
